Who We Are

Inter Bureau – International Bureau of Missing Children Investigation is a worldwide organization with its headquarters in Brazil, offering free help to the parents of missing children and the Courts of Justice for Childhood and Adolescence all around the world, through its group of volunteers scattered throughout the country and abroad.

It’s a philanthropic, humanitarian and non-profitable job, sustained by spontaneous donations from social charity. Inter Bureau does not receive any help from federal, state or municipal governments.

Among other actions, Inter Bureau takes charge of the search of missing children advertising worldwide through police, justice and diplomatic authorities (including Interpol) posters with pictures of missing children in Brazil and abroad, in Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Arabian and Hebrew, as well as releasing warning reports to road and airport authorities (duanes and customs) about the recently missing children.

As a NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) and as an essential part of its mission, Interbureau is especially devoted to combating the traffic of children and illegal adoptions as well as giving support to the families victimized with the Missing Phenomenon.

It is all part of an extremely complex social framework involving children prostitution, drug traffic and even kidnapping. Therefore, Interbureau is always updated on the matters related to Social Safety and the exercise of Citizenship aiming at a cooperation against crimes of all natures involving people from the public or private scopes who might be a threat to the child or adolescent.

Inter Bureau will soon be opening a division to help in the search of missing people (adults), in the same way that it does for children today.

Thousands of posters containing pictures of missing children in several languages are distributed throughout Brazil and abroad. That strongly supports our action. We are constantly campaigning, advertising and searching the missing person wherever it is possible for us to reach, through all possible legal forms and licit ways. We will also be using part of our professional fees on Inter Bureau in order to keep alive the flame of hope for those grieving parents of – someday– find the missing child, rescue the drug-addicted child, the prostituted child, through preventive actions against children kidnapping and exploitation.
